Size

This hardy, compact Australian native features fine grey-green foliage and white to soft mauve flowers for much of the year, attracting bees and beneficial insects.

Naturally low-growing and spreading, Westringia ‘Mundi’ is incredibly drought-tolerant, coastal-tolerant and low-maintenance.

It performs particularly well in Brisbane and South-East Queensland gardens and is ideal for low hedging, borders, mass planting, groundcover, coastal gardens and feature pots.

Plant Guide

What to use me for: mass planting, low spreading groundcover habit, driveway borders, coastal gardens, poolside plantings, native landscapes, bank and salt & wind-exposed sites.

I grow to: 0.4-0.5m high × 1.5m wide.

Features: dense low-spreading habit, soft grey-green evergreen foliage, mass bright flowering in spring with occasional flowering throughout the year, excellent tolerance of drought and tough coastal conditions.

Plant Care

Where to place me: Full sun to Part shade.

How far to space me: 0.5–0.8m centres for hedging, 1.0–1.2m for natural mass & native gardens.

Soil Conditions: Free-draining soils, performs well in sandy coastal soils, loam, and improved garden beds.

Extra-Care: Light trim 1–2× annually, avoid heavy wet clay, excellent drought tolerance once established, thrives with minimal care. Water as needed for the first 8–13 weeks until established. Leave naturally spreading or lightly prune to shape after flowering as required.
