Plant Guide
Plant Guide
What to use me for: I'm a versatile evergreen hedging and screening plant. I make an excellent screen or windbreak. My form is dense and bushy and I am suitable for; screening or formal hedge, boundary planting, native gardens or features near entries or along fences.
I grow to: I'll reach up to 6-8 metres tall and 3-4 metres wide, providing ample coverage for your outdoor space. Can be pruned to your desired height and shape.
Features: I produce an attractive glossy bright green leaf with bronze-tipped flushes in new growth with a white duster flower. Native flora and fauna love me. I can be pruned regularly to maintain the desired height and shape. Psyllid Resistant.
Plant Care
Plant Care
Where to place me: Full sun or part shade is ideal for me, I can thrive in a range of environments but like a sunny position for prolific and prolonged flowering.
How far to space me: For tight hedging, plant me every 0.5 to 1-metre to ensure a cohesive and uniform look. Softer screens: 1-2m apart.
Soil Conditions: I can tolerate most soil types if planted in well-draining soil. I don't like constant wet feet, so be sure to use a thick layer of chunky mulch, keeping trunk clear. Water me well until I'm established to help me grow strong and healthy.
Extra-Care: I have low-water needs, once established. I like a long soak during extended heat periods. I like to be pruned and shaped at the end of flowering for a dense and compact form for more prolific flowering the following Spring. Prune twice yearly for a tidy hedge, three times for a tight hedge. I prefer a slow release fertiliser formulated for Australian Natives (as per manufacturers instructions) in Spring.
