Plant Guide

What to use me for: I'm a versatile sculptured hedging and screening plant. My form is slender, semi-compact and dense. I am suitable for tall privacy screening or hedging, native gardens, coastal regions, topiary and feature or street trees.

I grow to: I'll reach up to 8 metres tall and 2 metres wide, providing a tight and slender design. Perfect for screen, hedge at constricted planting areas such as fences lines and driveways.

Features: I produce an attractive tight green leaf with bronze-tipped flushes in new growth with white flower that proceeds with berry. Native flora and fauna love me. I can be pruned regularly to maintain the desired height (>2m tall) and shape. Prune after flowering for dense growth the following season. Natural Psyllid resistance.

Plant Care

Where to place me: Full sun or part shade is ideal for me, I can thrive in a range of environments.

How far to space me: For tight hedging, plant me every 1-metre to ensure a cohesive and uniform look.

Soil Conditions: I can tolerate most soil types if planted in well-drained soil. I don't like constantly wet feet, so be sure to use a thick layer of chunky mulch and water me well until I'm established to help me grow strong and healthy.

Extra-Care: I have low-water needs once established. I like a long soak during extended heat periods. I like to be pruned and shaped for a tight and dense form. Prune twice yearly for a tidy hedge or every few years for a wider screen. I prefer a slow release fertiliser formulated for Australian Natives (as per manufacturers instructions) in Spring.
