Plant Guide
Plant Guide
What to use me for: I'm a versatile evergreen hedging and screening plant. My form is dense and bushy and I am suitable for; screening or hedging, native gardens, small gardens, coastal regions, topiary in gardens or large pots.
I grow to: I'll reach up to 4-metres tall and 2-metres wide, providing ample coverage for your outdoor space. Can be pruned to your desired height and shape.
Features: I produce an attractive dark green glossy leaf with deep crimson-red flushes in new growth. Native flora and fauna love me. I can be pruned regularly to maintain the desired height and shape.
Plant Care
Plant Care
Where to place me: Full sun or part shade is ideal for me, I can thrive in a range of environments.
How far to space me: For tight hedging, plant me every 1-metre apart to ensure a cohesive and uniform look.
Soil Conditions: I can tolerate most soil types if planted in well-drained soil. I don't like constantly wet feet, so be sure to use a thick layer of mulch and water me well until I'm established to help me grow strong and healthy. I am hardy and dry tolerant once established.
Extra-Care: I have low-water needs once established. I like a long soak during extended heat periods. I like to be pruned and shaped in early spring for a dense and bushy form. I prefer a slow release fertiliser formulated for Australian Natives as per manufacturers instructions.
