Pot Size

A beautifully evergreen narrow, columnar olive with tight branching, silver-green foliage and exceptional drought and heat tolerance. Perfect for modern gardens, narrow spaces, poolside planting and statement pots that is low maintenance and suits coastal conditions.

Lovely feature tree for modern landscapes, privacy screening, or boundary planting in narrow spaces. Tolley's Upright is fruitless variety, preferred for poolside, best performance in full sun and freely draining soils.

Origin: Mediterranean Region
Attracts: Birds and friendly insects

Plant Guide

What to use me for: narrow hedging, modern feature planting, courtyard pots, driveway avenues, Mediterranean-style gardens, screening in tight spaces, perimeter planting, formal rows, contemporary architectural landscapes.

I grow to: 3–4m high × 1–1.5m wide (naturally narrow, columnar habit)

Features: evergreen silver foliage, drought and heat tolerant, clean architectural form, narrow footprint ideal for tight areas, low fruiting (minimal mess), extremely hardy once established, works beautifully in large feature pots or pruned hedges.

Plant Care

Where to place me: Full sun (best); thrives in hot, dry, exposed conditions; suitable for coastal and windy sites; excellent in pots or in-ground.

How far to space me: 1–1.5m centres for a tight hedge, 2–3 m for feature spacing or avenue planting. Single spacing for statement pots.

Soil Conditions: Free-draining soil; thrives in sandy, poor or rocky soils; tolerates loam; avoid poorly drained clay (improve with grit and organic matter)

Extra-Care: Use low-phosphorus fertiliser (native-safe or Mediterranean blends), water to establish then minimal watering; light prune annually to maintain columnar form; mulch well; extremely low maintenance once established.
