Origin: Eastern Australia (QLD/NSW native)
Attracts: Birds & pollinators

Plant Guide

What to use me for: I’m a reliable statement screening and street/driveway tree. Great for entry/street appeal, avenues and medium shade/canopy. Suits coastal and urban sites.

I grow to: Typically 8–10 m tall and 6–8 m wide in the ground; can be maintained around 4–6 m with pruning when space is tight.

Features: Dense, glossy evergreen foliage, good wind and salt tolerance, bird-attracting fruit, neat structure for formal or contemporary landscapes.

Plant Care

Where to place me: Full sun (best), will handle part sun. Good airflow; very coastal/wind tolerant once established.

How far to space me: For avenues or screens: 4–6 m centres (closer = denser wall).

Soil Conditions: Prefers free-draining soils; excellent in sandy/coastal sites. Avoid prolonged waterlogging. Mulch well, keeping mulch off the trunk.

Extra-Care: Water regularly to establish; then low–moderate water needs. Light formative prune when young to set structure; annual tidy as required. Feed in spring with a slow-release fertiliser for natives/evergreens.
