A prostrate, cascading she-oak with fine, trailing, deep green stems that drape over edges, rocks and walls. Forms a dense, weed-suppressing mat in garden beds and spills beautifully from pots and retaining walls. Coastal, heat and drought tolerant, once established.
Best for: groundcover carpets, embankments, trailing over walls and “spiller” in pots.
Origin: Eastern Australia (NSW/Qld coastal)
Attracts: Habitat for lizards/beneficials; low nectar value

What to use me for: Groundcover, erosion control on banks, pot/spiller, softening hard edges and steps.

Where to place me: Full sun to part sun. Best density in high light; OK in bright part shade.
How far to space me: For full cover: 0.6–1.0 m centres (closer for faster closure). On walls/pots: allow trail length.
Soil Conditions: Free-draining is essential; sandy/loamy ideal. Avoid waterlogging; mound and add large bark/perlite in heavy soils.
Extra-Care: Low water after establishment; trim edges to shape. Feed lightly in spring with slow-release fertiliser. Protection from SE QLD and Brisbane midday to afternoon sun to prevent scorching.
